About Diwan Alomran
Dewan Al-Umran is a non-governmental and non-profit organization founded in 2017 in Cairo, Egypt. We aim to establish an urban intellectual center through written, audio, and visual outputs, promoting community participation and raising awareness about urban issues. Our founder, Ibrahim Azz El-Din, is an architect, urban researcher, and human rights advocate committed to developing informal areas and opposing forced displacement.
With a degree in Urban Planning from Al-Azhar University, Ibrahim has contributed to urban planning updates in rural villages and worked on housing rights and urban development projects. Dewan Al-Umran's vision is rooted in the belief that sustainable development begins with intellectual engagement.
