About DjazairUP
DjazairUP is an entrepreneurship program dedicated to women and young people with project ideas and startups in the early stages. Implemented by the Algerian Startup Initiative (ASI) with financial support from the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), DjazairUP aims to enhance entrepreneurial skills in the southern region and support incubated entrepreneurs by facilitating access to funding and incorporating their businesses in the province of Ouargla.
In its latest edition, DjazairUP aims to promote inclusive economic growth in the province by providing entrepreneurial resources to women and young people, encouraging them to create their own startups. Over a 24-month period, the project will create professional opportunities and increase workforce market access in Ouargla.
DjazairUP operates in five stages. Firstly, a training bootcamp will help 20 selected entrepreneurs formalize their project ideas into business plans. Then, a business plan challenge will determine the integration of trained entrepreneurs into the incubator. Successful projects will benefit from tailored assistance and mentoring in the incubation program. Incubated projects will be presented to business angels and financial institutions to secure funding. Finally, startups receiving investment proposals will be supported in their legal and official establishment.
Get involved in DjazairUP to join the pitch day or participate in the bootcamp. The program offers customized support for entrepreneurs, focusing on the creation and launch of startups. Additionally, DjazairUP aims to foster inclusive economic growth, improve market access, and increase revenue through advanced expertise. Collaboration with ecosystem partners allows for the delivery of high-value services.
DjazairUP has established partnerships with various organizations, including the Maison de l'Entrepreneuriat Ouargla, Pépinière d'Entreprises Ouargla, WOMWORK by The Annex DZ, and Centre d'Appui et de Conseils Ouargla.
To be eligible for DjazairUP, project holders need to meet the following criteria: be located in the southern region of Algeria, be aged 18 or above (with no age limit for women and between 18 and 35 for men), have an economically viable idea or project, demonstrate complementarity and seriousness among the founders, have a clear vision, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. All sectors of activity are welcome.
