Dowden’s Martial Arts is a family-focused martial arts centre in Whitburn, welcoming students from age two through adulthood. Led by Master Dowden, a 7th Degree Master and ITF International Instructor and Examiner, the school offers a supportive environment where students can develop martial arts skills alongside confidence, fitness, discipline and resilience. Its programmes include parent-and-child Pre-School classes for ages 2–4, Kids for P1–P3, Juniors for P4–P7, Teens from S1, and adult classes for ages 18 and over.
Training includes physical activity, practical self-defence, goal-setting and life skills, with classes tailored to different ages and experience levels. Students can train up to six days a week, with flexible sessions designed to suit family routines. Dowden’s Martial Arts is an accredited SQA centre, and its instructors are trained in autism awareness, safeguarding and first aid.
The full-time facility includes a viewing gallery and café. New students can book a free week trial to experience the classes
