DML Assistans is a Swedish, non-profit economic association founded in 2013 by three parents seeking high-quality, compassionate personal assistance for their sons. Based in Sundsvall, the organization puts each customer’s wishes, needs and right to self-determination at the centre of its work. Its personal assistance is tailored to each individual, with customers choosing how involved they want to be and how their support should work.
DML emphasizes close, accessible contact with customers and assistants, aiming to respond quickly to individual situations. The team draws on experience and training in personal assistance, autism and disabilities, and supports assistants in developing their skills. Staff development includes recurring cross-team training, including work related to autism and low-arousal approaches, as well as regular adult CPR training led by in-house instructors.
Beyond day-to-day assistance, DML arranges activities that bring customers and assistants together, such as fishing trips, painting days, bowling and Halloween events. The association also recruits personal assistants and shares updates about its services, staff and activities
