About GDM Habitat
The ReStore, a non-profit retail store owned by Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, is dedicated to enhancing communities in the Greater Des Moines area. With two convenient locations, the ReStore offers an extensive selection of new and gently used home improvement products, including appliances, flooring, cabinets, furniture, and more—all at a fraction of retail prices. Each item is carefully inspected to ensure quality, and all proceeds directly fund the construction of affordable homes for low-income families.
In addition to shopping, the ReStore encourages community involvement through donations of usable items, helping to reduce landfill waste and support environmental sustainability. Their Tool Lending Library allows DIY enthusiasts to borrow necessary tools for home projects. Celebrating over 35 years of service, the ReStore embodies a commitment to building homes, nurturing communities, and promoting hope.
