The Direcția Națională Anticorupție (DNA) is Romania's specialized anti-corruption institution, established to investigate and prosecute cases of high and medium-level corruption. Operating independently, DNA plays a critical role in promoting democratic values aligned with European standards by effectively tackling corruption at influential levels. The agency was modeled after successful European counterparts from countries such as Spain, Norway, and Belgium.
