Welcome to the Doby Family History site, a dedicated resource for exploring the rich heritage of the Doby name, including its variations such as Dobie and Dobey. This online platform serves as a part of a global project registered with the Guild of One-Name Studies, offering a wealth of information about the Doby lineage, tracing its origins back to Virginia in the 1600s. The site features an extensive collection of historical records, family trees, and DNA research that highlights the migration patterns of the Doby family across the United States, through states such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas.

Visitors can engage with various features, including surname search, family statistics, media archives, and reports detailing the family’s historical narratives. The site is ongoing, with plans to publish a comprehensive genealogy series documenting the Doby family's history. Acknowledging the complexities of family names and legacies, especially within African American history, this site aims to celebrate and respect the diverse stories within the Doby family community.
