About Doddington Place
Doddington Place Gardens is a historic garden destination near Doddington village, Faversham and Sittingbourne in Kent. Set within the grounds of an imposing Victorian mansion and surrounded by wooded countryside on the North Downs, the ten-acre gardens are recognised by English Heritage for their historical importance. They have opened in support of the National Gardens Scheme for more than fifty years.
Visitors can explore a varied landscape that includes a woodland garden with rhododendrons and azaleas, particularly striking in May and June, and a large Edwardian rock garden with pools. Other highlights include a formal sunken garden with herbaceous borders, a pond and folly walk, extensive lawns, avenues, mature trees and clipped yew hedges. The gardens also feature a flint-and-brick folly known as the Wobbly Tower.
Doddington Place Gardens offers visitor information, ticket booking and group visits, alongside facilities including a tearoom. The site also hosts workshops and special events, with a gardening festival planned for 2027.
