Doeners Praktijk

Doeners Praktijk is a therapy practice based in Gennep, serving children and young people, with or without disabilities, and their parents in North Limburg, Northeast Brabant and nearby municipalities around Nijmegen. It supports families when a child encounters developmental difficulties, including behavioural, psychological, emotional or social challenges.

The practice offers psychomotor therapy (PMT), Sherborne Samenspel, parent guidance, family PMT and group training. Its other programmes include exercising together, PMT in the classroom, Brugklas Proof and animal-assisted therapy. Treatment is tailored to each child and may involve the child, parents or the wider family.

Doeners Praktijk places the relationship between therapist, child and parents at the heart of care. Therapists take a positive, non-judgmental approach, recognising each child’s individual strengths and involving their support system in the process. Sessions use movement, sport and play to help children explore new behaviours, work towards agreed goals and build positive experiences. The care journey includes an introductory family conversation, observation, treatment and evaluations, with progress reviewed together.
