Doesdesign

Doesdesign is the jewelry and silversmithing studio of Birgit Doesborg, based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. The studio specializes in Mokume-gane, a Japanese metalworking technique used to create distinctive patterns in precious metals. Since 2014, Doesborg has held the title of Master Mokume-gane from the Dutch Guild of Goldsmiths, recognizing her craftsmanship and quality.

Doesdesign creates handmade jewelry and objects, including engagement and wedding rings, women’s and men’s rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Its collections range from clean, contemporary forms to small, sculptural pieces, with Mokume-gane featured as a specialty. The studio also makes commemorative objects and artistic silverware, such as table pieces, candlesticks, and bowls.

Alongside its collections, Doesdesign offers jewelry repairs, individual silversmithing courses, and group workshops in different techniques and materials. Courses run from September through June for beginners and more experienced participants, while workshops are scheduled for groups. Birgit Doesborg also presents her work at exhibitions and design markets, where visitors can view and purchase selected pieces.
