Brian Anderson is an author and cartoonist best known for creating the nationally syndicated comic strip Dog Eat Doug and the graphic novel series Sophie. Based in North Carolina, he lives with his family and a group of rescued dogs and cats—an affinity reflected in his self-description as a “Floof Enthusiast.” His work blends humor, warmth, and observations of family life, pets, and childhood.

Anderson’s books include Sophie: Jurassic Bark, Sophie: Frankenstein’s Hound, and Sophie: Wags to Wishes, along with additional titles and the three-book series The Conjurers. The Sophie graphic novels adapt his comic-strip storytelling into book-length adventures, with the series praised for its heart and humor. Readers can explore his books and comic-related updates through his website, which also features a blog with Sophie strip highlights and stories inspired by everyday life with animals.

Anderson offers opportunities to connect with him through author talks and events, and shares upcoming appearances, including author fairs. Visitors can also sign up for his newsletter to receive two free books and comics.
