Dogo Defense Academy

Dogo Defense Academy is a self-defense training center in Concord, California, offering practical instruction for adults, children, and teens. Its approach focuses on skills for real-life situations, combining awareness, prevention, physical techniques, and decision-making under pressure. Adult self-defense classes cover responses to unarmed and armed threats, escapes from grabs and holds, and defense in varied positions and environments. The academy also offers private lessons and a one-on-one introductory class by appointment.

Additional programs include 45-minute Boxing Fitness sessions, which combine boxing fundamentals, bag and mitt work, cardio, and light strength training, as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focused on practical grappling and ground defense rather than sport competition. Youth classes are divided into Pups for ages 4–8 and Alphas for older children and teens, with instruction in safety awareness, basic techniques, confidence, discipline, and resilience. Classes are led by instructors with backgrounds in boxing and martial arts. Dogo Defense Academy also shares class schedules, gallery updates, and news through its website and mailing list.
