DoINeedAMechanic is an online directory designed to help drivers understand car problems and connect with local auto repair professionals. Its mechanic advisor lets users describe symptoms such as warning lights, unusual noises, leaks, or starting trouble and receive AI-generated guidance on possible next steps. The site notes that this guidance is not a substitute for professional advice.

Drivers can search and compare mechanics by location and the types of work they handle, then contact providers suited to their vehicle’s needs. Listings span Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, with browsing by area. Service categories include general auto repair, oil changes, brakes, tires, electrical diagnostics, transmission work, diesel vehicles, hybrid and electric vehicle service, and collision and body repairs.

DoINeedAMechanic also offers business owners options to claim or add a listing. The directory describes its information as compiled from public records and promotes free searching, giving drivers a practical starting point for exploring repair options.
