Iniciativa Dokořán is a nonprofit organization founded in Karviná in 2005 to enrich local cultural life and create welcoming opportunities for leisure and community involvement. It began with the Festival Dokořán, which it organized for 12 years, and now runs a varied programme of events at the Loděnice recreation area in Božena Němcová Park. Since changing its approach in 2017, the organization has held more than 50 themed events per season, including music festivals, Majáles, food events, talks, film screenings, workshops, theatre and charity concerts.
It also supports emerging bands, alternative music and volunteer participation. Visitors can enjoy the seasonal Bar Lodičky, open from April to October beside the lake, serving homemade lemonade, selected coffee, food and beer. Boat rentals and sports facilities, including children’s, basketball, beach volleyball and workout areas, add to the offer.
From November to March, the cultural café Backstage serves quality and filtered coffee, fresh products and hosts intimate concerts, quizzes, talks and workshops
