Domestic Abuse Project (DAP) is a Minnesota-based organization working to end the cycle of domestic violence and build safer communities. For more than 47 years, it has developed evidence-based programs to support healing for survivors, children and families, as well as people who have used abusive behavior. DAP provides therapy for adult survivors, addressing the mental health effects of abuse, including trauma, anxiety and depression.
Its youth services include early childhood, individual and group therapy, along with support for caregivers, to help children heal and strengthen their self-esteem. For people seeking to change abusive behaviors, intervention and prevention services offer individual and group therapy, education and opportunities to develop nonviolent relationship skills. DAP also offers free legal advocacy to help survivors navigate legal and social service systems, and case management to address barriers involving housing, employment, childcare and basic needs.
