Marianne Fisher

Domina Tempora is the historical writing and research platform of Marianne Rosamund Fisher, dedicated to the women and cultures often overlooked in conventional accounts of history. Its essays explore women who ruled, rebelled, challenged religious and social conventions, and shaped the worlds around them, alongside the kingdoms, temples, myths, scandals, and customs of their times.

The site offers free Public Writing for readers seeking accessible introductions to historical subjects, as well as a Private Collection featuring longer, illustrated, and cited essays for deeper exploration. Its topics range across ancient Rome, India, Indonesia, mythology, folklore, leadership, and the interpretation of history. Featured writing considers figures and stories such as the women behind the Severan throne, the Panchakanya of Indian epics, Cornelia of Rome, and the Javanese legend of Nyi Blorong.

Domina Tempora also provides consulting services in research, narrative shaping, and editorial work. Fisher’s books and educational courses extend the site’s interests into history, mythology, and the lessons historical traditions may offer for modern life and business.
