DOMKO

DOMKO is a social services organization based in Košice, Slovakia, focused on creating a safe, welcoming environment for people with disabilities and supporting their participation in community life. Its services include outpatient social care, a specialized facility for people with autism, supported housing for eligible adults, and early intervention for families raising children with disabilities. DOMKO uses a creative, person-centred approach to care and offers opportunities for personal development, social connection and preparation for work.

The organization’s activities extend beyond care services. Participants explore visual arts, photography, ceramics, theatre, dance, music and sports, including swimming, football, athletics and pétanque. Their work is presented at exhibitions, while the Domko Band and Domko Fragile choir share music with wider audiences. DOMKO also organizes events such as the Most úsmevov creative festival, swimming competitions and inclusive games. Employment preparation includes experience in a sheltered workshop and support toward opportunities in the open labour market. Through these services and activities, DOMKO promotes creativity, independence, inclusion and meaningful participation.
