About Domus Aurea
Domus Aurea, also known as Clos Quebrada De Macul, is a renowned brand that has been making waves in Chile's wine industry since 1996. Owned by Isabelle and Ricardo Peña, this family-owned vineyard is located on a single hillside and is dedicated to producing exceptional wines. What sets Domus Aurea apart is their commitment to site-specificity, low yields, and non-interventionist winemaking.
Their vineyard boasts 80% Cabernet Sauvignon vines, along with a 20% blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. Previously, Domus Aurea's harvest was sold to top wineries across the country, earning a reputation for producing the most expensive fruit in the market. Inspired by this success, Isabelle and Ricardo joined forces with winemaker Ignacio Recabarren and a US investor to establish their own winery.
Since its debut, Domus Aurea has become a leading player in Chile's wine history. With the addition of consultant and resident winemaker Jean Pascal Lacaze in 2003, the brand continues to push boundaries and create exceptional vintages.
