Donatori di Sangue “Francesco Olgiati” ODV is a volunteer association that has supported patients at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli in Rome since 1980. Its members give their time freely to help provide blood, plasma and platelets for children and adults in need. The association encourages people to become donors, explains how and when to donate, and helps connect a community committed to solidarity and patient care.
Donations take place at the hospital’s Transfusion Service, with guidance on identification requirements, preparation and eligibility. The association also organizes external blood drives and shares news and appeals when supplies are low. Through its activities, it supports the hospital’s patients and promotes research, presenting each donation as a practical act of hope.
The Donatori Olgiati app offers donation information, appointment booking, reminders, a record of past donations, alerts about blood shortages and a countdown to the next eligible donation. The association welcomes new donors and supporters and provides information through its website, news, events and social media
