Donderhof is a small-scale residential care centre in the Donderberg neighbourhood of Roermond, the Netherlands. It offers older adults a warm, safe place to live when they can no longer remain at home, with personal attention, dignity and respect for different cultures at the heart of its approach. Care is tailored to residents’ cultural and religious backgrounds, with features including halal meals, space for prayer and consideration for personal traditions.
The centre has 30 comfortable care studios on the ground floor, each with a sitting and sleeping area and a kitchenette. Residents can also enjoy two communal living rooms and a garden with fruit trees. The building is made of wood and operates without gas. Donderhof provides long-term residential care for older people with intensive care needs, as well as a short-term stay and recovery option through an ELV bed.
