DONK HM

Donk Humanitarian Medicine (Donk HM) is an independent, non-partisan volunteer organization founded in 2005 to protect the right to health. Based in Trieste, Italy, it provides free social and healthcare assistance to people who cannot access medical care, including Italians and migrants, people experiencing homelessness, and others facing economic or social hardship. Its work helps address gaps in access to basic care and supports prevention, early attention to health needs, and connection with public health services.

Donk’s services include volunteer-staffed clinics and local outreach in the provinces of Trieste and Gorizia, as well as guidance to help people navigate Italy’s National Health Service. Its Donky mobile clinic brings doctors and nurses into the community, while online initiatives offer remote medical support and training. The organization also runs projects focused on vulnerable people and promotes peace, solidarity, and respect for human rights. Through Donk Network, it provides free e-learning for people working in reception and support services. Donations and volunteers help sustain its activities.
