Donnie's Fund

Donnie’s Fund is a UK registered charity created in memory of Donnie, who was born with a life-limiting condition and spent 142 days receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit at University College Hospital (UCH). The charity aims to make life easier for families whose babies are being cared for in the unit, including those who travel long distances or are balancing the needs of other family members. It also seeks to help families include their babies in family life and to encourage wider dialogue about medical ethics.

Launched in autumn 2017, Donnie’s Fund initially set out to raise £25,560, equivalent to £180 for each day of Donnie’s life. Donors and fundraisers helped the charity exceed that goal within a few months, enabling it to begin projects intended to improve the experience of families at UCH. The organization now raises funds annually to support its ongoing work.
