Dorpsboerderij Nieuwkoop is a community farm and foundation in Nieuwkoop, located near Kennedyplein and the Jumbo. It offers visitors a welcoming place to encounter farm and other animals up close, enjoy the outdoors, and learn about a working farm. Residents include deer, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, parakeets, storks, and other birds and small animals. Many roam freely in the meadows; visitors are asked not to pick them up and to consult the farm’s caretakers before feeding them.

The farm also has Het Kwakertje, a casual café area where visitors can relax with coffee, cappuccino, tea, or lemonade, indoors or on the terrace. Community participation is central to its work: volunteers help care for the animals and manage the farm, while sponsors and donors provide important support. The foundation welcomes new volunteers and offers opportunities to contribute through one-time donations or sponsorship. Its mascots, Idem and Dito, take part in local activities and fundraising events, helping bring the farm’s community spirit to life.
