Dorset Council UK

Dorset Council Homechoice is an online housing service for people seeking help with housing in Dorset. The portal enables users to apply for the social housing register, register as homeless, describe their current housing situation and report changes in their circumstances. Applicants can create an account to submit an application and provide supporting evidence, then check or update their details and personal housing plan. Registered users can also place bids on suitable available properties and search current listings, with previous properties available to view.

The service provides information about application processing and ways to contact the council for assistance. New housing register applications generally take four to six weeks to assess, while homelessness enquiries may take several working days for an officer to respond. People who are homeless now or expect to become homeless within seven days are advised to call the council’s urgent advice number. The site also offers a tutorial on creating an account and information about accessibility, cookies and privacy.
