Doula Belle

Doula Belle provides holistic birth services for birthing people and families in Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas. Founded by Michelle Washington, an experienced birthworker and educator, the practice offers support throughout the antepartum, birth, and postpartum stages. Its approach centers on helping clients feel informed, prepared, empowered, and advocated for as they navigate their individual birth experiences.

Families begin with an intake interview or meeting, where Doula Belle learns about their needs and helps customize a suitable support package. Clients can choose from three birth-support packages, with services tailored to their bodies, babies, and birth plans. Support may include birth planning, prenatal exercise, childbirth education, hypnosis techniques, massage, preparation for labor, and assistance during birth. Postpartum care can include lactation support, practical help, and visits. The practice also offers hypnobirthing education and placenta-related keepsakes and services, as described by clients. Doula Belle works alongside families’ chosen care teams and supports a range of birth settings and outcomes, helping clients prepare for and experience birth in a way that reflects their needs.
