About Lebenshilfe Amberg-Sulzbach e. V.
Lebenshilfe Amberg-Sulzbach e. V. is a nonprofit association supporting people with disabilities and their families in the Amberg-Sulzbach region. With more than 20 facilities and services, it offers a broad range of educational, recreational and sporting opportunities, particularly for children, adolescents and young adults with support needs. Its services include early intervention, an inclusive nursery and kindergarten, preparatory education, a school and support centre for children with intellectual disabilities, and school and individual assistance. The organization also provides advice for people with disabilities, open disability services, leisure activities and communication support through its Easy Language office.
Family support is another important part of its work. The Regenbogengruppe in Amberg and the Down-Syndrom-Aktiv group in Schwandorf bring together parents, relatives and guardians of children with disabilities. These self-help groups offer opportunities to exchange experiences, share practical advice, support one another and enjoy activities with their children. New participants are welcome. Lebenshilfe Amberg-Sulzbach also invites people to get involved through membership, volunteering and donations.
