About Down Guatemala
The Guatemalan Association for Down Syndrome is a non-profit institution that offers specialized services such as special education, speech therapy, physiotherapy, and pre-employment training workshops. Founded in 2005, the organization initially focused on providing services exclusively for individuals with Down syndrome, expanding to include other intellectual disabilities in 2018. Their mission is to provide specialized services, promote inclusion, and offer training to families.
Through early stimulation, physiotherapy, and speech therapy, they aim to maximize the potential and skills of their population for a fulfilling life. One unique initiative is the Happy Coffee blend, created and packaged by individuals with intellectual disabilities.
