Domov pod Kuňkou is a social services organization established by the Pardubice Region in the Czech Republic. It supports adults with intellectual disabilities, including people who also have physical or sensory disabilities, particularly when their health creates challenging social circumstances. The organization provides two services designed to offer practical assistance while helping residents live as independently and ordinarily as possible.
Its residential service for people with disabilities is based in Ráby and has capacity for 62 clients. Supported housing is provided in apartments in Pardubice and Přelouč, with capacity for 19 clients; the service can accommodate no more than three women at one time. In these family-style homes, residents receive accommodation, care and support with everyday life.
Domov pod Kuňkou is also transforming its services from an institutional model toward community-based living. Training households help residents develop practical skills and prepare for life in the community.
