Pingvin Share is a self-hosted file-sharing platform for people who want to manage file transfers on their own machines rather than entrust personal files to third-party services. Its central offering is software that users can host themselves, giving them control over where their files are stored and how they are shared. The project emphasizes privacy, stating that files remain the users’ own and are not accessed by third parties.

It also avoids imposing an annoying file-size limit: the practical limit is the capacity of the host’s hard drive. This makes Pingvin Share an option for users who need to share large files while preferring a self-managed setup. The website invites visitors to get started and provides access to the project’s source code, supporting those who want to explore or run the platform themselves.

Overall, Pingvin Share focuses on private, self-hosted file sharing, with a straightforward value proposition: keep control of your files, host the service on your own machine, and share files without a fixed size cap
