DP Wild Artistry is a taxidermy business based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, led by taxidermist Derek Pearson. Serving hunters and trappers across North America, the business creates custom displays that preserve the natural character and appearance of each specimen, from local North American game to African and South American exotic animals. Its services include shoulder mounts, full-body and half-body mounts, bird and fish taxidermy, European skull mounts, and full-body rugs.
Mounts can be made in a range of positions and paired with custom habitats designed to showcase the animal. DP Wild Artistry also tans hides in-house, aiming to maintain their natural beauty and integrity. Skull preparation uses a bleach and simmer process intended to preserve delicate structures.
For clients on Vancouver Island, local pickup and delivery are available for an additional fee. The business emphasizes detailed craftsmanship and compliance with wildlife regulations, requiring clients to provide applicable licenses and authorizations and retain ownership documents
