Drachenflieger Pohlheim

Drachen- und Gleitschirmflieger Pohlheim is a flight club based at the Segelflugplatz Pohlheim in Mittelhessen, Germany. Founded in 1984, the club brings together hang-gliding and paragliding pilots and shares the airfield with glider, ultralight and motor-trike users. Flights are launched using an electric winch, and the site has an established aviation infrastructure and a weather station for checking current conditions.

The club’s activities include hang-gliding, paragliding, winch towing and tandem flights. Tandem options are currently available by hang glider, launched behind a trike, and by paraglider; passengers are asked to arrange flights directly with the relevant pilots. Flying generally takes place on Sundays and public holidays during the published season.

The club welcomes visiting pilots for up to two flying days per year, subject to advance registration and approval by the responsible launch leader. It is not currently accepting new active paraglider members because of capacity and shared-airfield safety considerations.
