Copenhagen Dragon Boat Festival is an annual cultural and sporting event that brings together Danish and Chinese communities, local organisations, businesses and international visitors. Initiated by more than 50 Chinese associations, Danish communities and Danish-Chinese companies, the festival promotes teamwork, inclusion and intercultural dialogue. Its programme centres on dragon boat racing, with public opportunities to try the sport alongside races featuring teams from across the community.
Visitors can also enjoy cultural exhibitions, Chinese and Danish food, market stalls, music, dance, Tai Chi, performances and family activities. The festival provides a platform for cultural exchange and community participation, with past editions featuring more than 100 stalls and a wide range of food experiences. Businesses can explore sponsorship opportunities, while teams can take part in the dragon boat competition.
The organisers also share festival news, schedules, galleries and information about supporting organisations. The 2026 edition is scheduled for May 30–31 at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen, with free admission
