Dragon Slayer Charters, LLC is a veteran-owned and operated fishing charter business serving Oregon’s coast. Based primarily in Winchester Bay, the company also fishes from Florence and, depending on fish activity, Charleston Harbor. Its charters offer an opportunity for people of different ages and experience levels to enjoy fishing in open waters, with Captain Shawn Holgate especially welcoming families, children, and fellow veterans.
Captain Shawn grew up fishing the Umpqua River and Oregon Coast and has pursued the sport throughout his life. He monitors fishing reports and weather conditions to prepare for time on the water. His background includes 15 years of service in the Army and Army National Guard, reflecting a commitment to serving others. He is a U.S. Coast Guard-certified licensed captain, an Oregon-licensed guide, and certified in emergency first aid and CPR; the business is insured.
Trips take place aboard the 26-foot North River Seahawk Offshore, equipped with modern navigation and electronics.
