Dramatikkens hus is Norway’s national centre for the development of new Norwegian drama. It provides an arena and testing ground where playwrights can explore ideas, develop scripts and bring new work into conversation with audiences and the performing arts community. The organisation supports writers through grants and development opportunities, and offers access to a dramaturgy database and resources including script excerpts, podcasts and video.
Its programme features readings, work-in-progress showings, performances, seminars, talks, workshops, festivals and other professional events, held both in person and online. These activities give audiences opportunities to encounter emerging texts and follow the creative process, while helping dramatists connect with peers and practitioners. Based at Tøyenbekken 34 in Oslo, Dramatikkens hus also shares news, interviews and information about current projects and opportunities.
