Dual Recovery Anonymous (or DRA) is a fellowship and Twelve Step program that offers support and guidance to individuals facing concurrent mental health and addiction recovery challenges. Founded on the principles of the Twelve Steps and the experiences of men and women in recovery with a dual diagnosis, DRA aims to help individuals recover from both their chemical dependency and emotional or psychiatric illness. Through a community of mutual support, DRA focuses on relapse prevention and actively improving the quality of life for its members.

Membership requires a desire to stop using alcohol or other intoxicating drugs, as well as a desire to manage emotional or psychiatric illness in a healthy and constructive way. DRA encourages the building of personal support networks, which may include chemical dependency or mental health treatment facilities, medical professionals, spiritual or religious assistance, and other 12-step or self-help groups. The DRA program is designed to provide suggestions for recovery rather than strict rules, allowing individuals to find their own path to dual recovery that is most meaningful to them
