Dravet

Dravet Slovenia is an association formed in 2022 by families of children with Dravet syndrome. It brings together people affected by the condition and their parents, providing a community for sharing useful information, treatment updates, and mutual support as families navigate the challenges of the disease. The association also helps raise awareness of Dravet syndrome, a rare and difficult-to-control form of epilepsy that typically begins in early childhood.

Seizures often start between two and 15 months of age and may be triggered by fever, heat, light, or visual patterns. Developmental delays and other difficulties can emerge as children grow, and seizures may remain challenging to manage despite medication. Dravet Slovenia’s website offers information about the syndrome, practical links, and recommendations for the care of patients.

The association also shares updates on research, including clinical studies of potential new medicines and emerging approaches such as gene therapy and antisense oligonucleotide treatment. Its work connects Slovenian families and supports their access to relevant knowledge about care and research
