Dream T Foundation

The DreamT Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to financial education and careers for underrepresented minorities in inner cities. It believes that financial literacy can support generational wealth and help increase diversity in the financial services industry. Its program serves high school freshmen, giving students an early start and practical support throughout high school and beyond.

Participants, known as DreamScholars, receive a mentor working in finance and attend professional development seminars covering resume building, industry sectors, and mock interviews. The foundation also offers interview preparation for summer opportunities beginning in students’ sophomore year. By the end of their first year, scholars learn fundamental investing tools and receive $100 to invest in the stock market, providing a hands-on introduction to investing.

DreamScholars are also automatically considered for the Belkis T. Muhammed Scholarship, established in honor of the founder’s mother to help cover finance textbooks. Eligible students must declare a major in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Accounting and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.
