des Dressurstall Birkenbach

Dressurstall Birkenbach is a family-run horse training and boarding operation in Hofbieber, near Fulda, set in the Biosphere Reserve Rhön. Led by Heike Birkenbach and her team, the stable has operated at Oberdörnbachshof since May 2018. Its approach brings together ambitious dressage training and nature-focused horse keeping, with the guiding principle that horses should be allowed to behave like horses.

The facility accommodates sport horses, young horses, correction horses and retired horses. Depending on their needs and group arrangements, horses enjoy daily turnout on spacious pastures and winter paddocks, with free access to roughage and/or grass. The team provides individual training and development, from starting horses under saddle through the advanced levels, allowing each animal time to progress at its own pace. Work may also include groundwork and lunging, alongside care and support for horses and riders. Dressurstall Birkenbach aims to foster healthy, balanced, willing partners through varied, considered handling and training tailored to each horse.
