The German Red Cross (DRK) Ortsverein Bad Urach is a local volunteer organization serving the community since 1913. Guided by the Red Cross principle of providing help according to need, regardless of nationality, beliefs, religion or personal circumstances, its members support people in emergencies and promote preparedness.
The organization provides first aid and medical coverage at public events, from concerts to community festivals. Its “helpers on site” offer initial care until the emergency medical service arrives, while members also assist people affected by larger incidents and support other emergency responders. The Ortsverein works with the DRK Blood Donation Service to help maintain blood supplies and offers first aid courses for people with no prior experience. Its activities also include youth engagement, training and participation in disaster-preparedness exercises. The website provides information about emergency alerts, including the federal NINA warning app, and ways to donate or get involved. Through practical services, education and volunteer work, the Ortsverein Bad Urach helps strengthen local emergency response and community support.
