The German Red Cross (DRK) Limbach Local Association is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization serving people in Limbach and its surrounding districts. Founded as a local group in 1973, it works in social support, medical services, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response. Its volunteers provide rapid local emergency support through the Helfer-vor-Ort team, which responds to 112 calls and delivers lifesaving measures before the ambulance service arrives.
The association organizes regular blood donation drives in Limbach and Mudau, helping meet community needs while supporting its wider relief work. It also offers trained, equipped medical standby services for events such as concerts, football matches, parades, and street festivals. Through its youth organization, children and young people aged 6 to 27 can learn first aid, take part in activities, and discover the work of the Red Cross.
Community members can support DRK Limbach by donating, volunteering, or joining the association. Its work and operating costs are funded in significant part by public donations.
