The DRK-Ortsverein Mettingen e.V. is a nonprofit local association and part of the worldwide Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Based in Mettingen, Germany, it offers community activities for members and local residents at its DRK meeting centre. Its work is planned and carried out by volunteers, with services spanning emergency support, education and social engagement.
The association organizes life-saving blood donation drives and provides medical services at events, from concerts to street festivals, helping respond to minor and more serious emergencies. In cooperation with the DRK-Kreisverband Tecklenburger Land e.V., it also offers first aid courses in Mettingen. Its youth work is delivered through the German Red Cross Youth (JRK), while activities for older people and people with disabilities form part of its broader community programme. Regular senior afternoons at the meeting centre provide another opportunity for local residents to come together. People can support the association’s work by becoming members, volunteering or donating to a relief project.
