The German Red Cross local association in Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, known as DRK-Ortsverein Hagen am Teutoburger Wald e.V., has a community service tradition dating back to 1914. Its volunteers support people in Hagen and the surrounding area through blood donation, medical services and disaster response. The association hosts blood donation sessions six to seven times a year and provides medical care at events through its Sanitätsdienst service. It also collects textiles for people in need through clothing containers.

A central part of the organization’s work is helping rescue and care for people in emergencies. To prepare, it trains rescue personnel and undertakes emergency readiness activities. Most of the work is carried out by volunteers, often in the evenings or at weekends. People who wish to contribute can contact the association about volunteering or becoming a member. The organization also invites donations to support its aid projects. Through these services and opportunities to get involved, the Hagen local association brings together community members in practical support for people in need.
