The German Red Cross (DRK) Ortsverein Stadtallendorf is a local voluntary association serving Stadtallendorf and nearby communities. Founded in 2016, it brings together the Bereitschaft Stadtallendorf, whose members have been involved with the German Red Cross in and around Schweinsberg since 1969. The association has 62 members: 36 active volunteers and 26 supporting members. Its work spans social support, first aid and medical services, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response.
The team provides medical support at public events such as concerts and street festivals, and its rapid-response group can assist with both medical and welfare services in emergencies. Specialist activities include disaster catering, information and communications support, and the use of unmanned aircraft systems. The Ortsverein also contributes personnel to Hesse’s disaster-response medical and welfare units. Its website shares information about blood-donation appointments and the German Red Cross’s blood supply work, as well as the German Red Cross Youth, which offers children and young people a way to get involved.
