The DRK Ortsverein Wickede (Ruhr) e. V. is a local branch of the German Red Cross, rooted in a long tradition of community service.
Since 1931, people in Wickede and the surrounding area have volunteered with the organization, contributing to the Red Cross mission locally. Its work includes organizing blood donation appointments, which have been held in Wickede since 1952, and supporting the Jugendrotkreuz (German Red Cross Youth), active in the town since the mid-1970s. The association also has a rescue dog unit, reported as a new part of DRK Wickede in 2023.
Through its website, the organization shares current news, press releases, contact information and details about its work and services. It also invites visitors to support humanitarian projects through donations. The site provides information about both the German Red Cross and its youth organization, helping residents learn about local initiatives and ways to stay connected.
DRK Wickede is sustained by the longstanding engagement of volunteers serving their community
