About DRNA
DRNA, or Dachshund Rescue of North America, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing dachshunds and dachshund mixes in need. With representation in the northeast, mid-Atlantic, and southeast regions, DRNA has placed nearly 12,000 dogs into their forever homes since incorporating in 1999. At DRNA, dogs spend time in foster care to evaluate their behaviors and interactions with cats, kids, other dogs, and more, ensuring a good match for potential adopters.
Foster homes also provide proper nutrition and a nurturing environment to prepare the dachshunds for life outside of fear and starvation. Before adoption, all dogs are checked by a veterinarian and receive necessary procedures such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, fecal testing, heartworm testing/treatment, dental cleaning, and identification of any long-term conditions. DRNA believes that every dog deserves a loving home, and through their standard placement fee and generous donations, they strive to find the perfect match for each rescued dachshund
