Drogheda River Rescue is a voluntary rescue group based in Horselane on Trinity Street, Drogheda. As a registered charity, our main focus is to provide a search, rescue, and recovery service along the River Boyne. In addition, we offer a suicide intervention patrol on weekends and provide event cover locally and nationally.

Our dedicated team is always ready to assist in any search operations nationwide. Established in 1972, Drogheda River Rescue and Recovery Service was founded after the tragic drowning of a young child in the River Boyne. With the support of the local community and Drogheda Borough Council, we acquired premises in Horselane, where our Rescue Boathouse is currently located.

Throughout our history, we have acquired several boats, including the 5. 4 Avon Sea rider, renamed 'the Paddy Morrissey', and two ex RNLI D-class boats. Our boats have been involved in countless rescues and recoveries, making a significant impact in local waters.

Although we faced a setback when the Paddy Morrissey boat was written off in 2003, we continue to operate with two D-Class boats.
