About Drug Chart
Drugchart. org presents Derek Snider’s original psychoactive drug chart, a visual reference that organizes common psychoactive substances by their overlapping effects and categories. Created by Snider between 2003 and 2005, the chart was updated in December 2023 and is provided as an SVG document containing vectors, text, and hyperlinks.
Its Venn diagram groups substances across areas such as stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, and antipsychotics, with further categories including psychedelics, dissociatives, deliriants, sedatives, and narcotic analgesics. Examples shown include caffeine, nicotine, cannabis, alcohol, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, opioids, psychedelics, and antipsychotic medications. The interactive chart links its labels to additional information and offers accessibility options, including adjustable text size, high contrast, plain and dark modes, reduced motion, and focus highlights.
Drugchart. org provides the chart as an informational resource and states that it is licensed under CC BY-SA 4. 0.
