The Development Studies Association Ireland provides an open and participatory space for dialogue between researchers, policy-makers and practitioners, who have an interest in, or are working the area of international development. It supports cohesion and capacity-building in the development studies sector; promotes strategic alliances and partnerships to grow the development studies sector and harnesses research which supports and promotes coherent evidence-based development policy and practice aimed at the reduction of global poverty, the enhancement of all forms of equality and respect for human rights. DSA Ireland currently comprises seven study groups: nutrition and health; civil society; education; gender; humanitarian action; adaptive programming.

About Development Studies Association Ireland
DSA Ireland is a brand dedicated to creating a platform for discussion and action on global issues such as conflict, climate change, and cost-of-living challenges. As an organization, they aim to bring together individuals and experts to address these pressing problems and seek solutions for a better world. Led by Pieternella Pieterse, their newly appointed Chairperson, DSA Ireland is committed to facilitating meaningful dialogues and collaborations through various activities and events.
One such event was their successful annual conference, which highlighted the relevance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sparked insightful exchanges between participants from the Global South and North.
