Our story began in 1958 when entrepreneur Sam Caprari purchased the historic Pittston Stove building and established the Duchess Coat and Suit Manufacturing plant. As one of the major players in the thriving garment industry of Wyoming Valley, the plant employed over 150 workers.

To cater to the growing demand for discount retail, Sam's wife, Theresa, had the brilliant idea of opening a discount retail outlet, one of the first of its kind.
