KG Düsseldorfer Originale e.V. is a Düsseldorf carnival association founded on November 11, 1965. Rooted in Rhineland traditions, the club brings together families, friends, longtime residents and newcomers to celebrate carnival and community throughout the year. Its activities combine established customs with a lively, welcoming spirit, with members contributing to performances, parade participation, float building and social gatherings.
A central focus is youth engagement. The association introduces children to carnival traditions through youth activities, dance and its Kinderprinzenpaar, and supports the Düsseldorfer Originale Children’s Princes’ Club. Its program includes events for different ages, such as a children’s carnival, seasonal gatherings and a carnival party. The club also shares its history and news through its website, alongside information about membership and contact details.
With more than 140 members, KG Düsseldorfer Originale e.V. describes carnival as more than dressing up: it is a way to foster fellowship, joy and local culture. Its motto, “Once an Original, always an Original,” reflects an invitation to join in and celebrate Düsseldorf’s carnival spirit.
